This recording is from the 1962 Columbia Pictures British epic historical drama film Lawrence of Arabia, directed by David Lean and starred Peter O’Toole. Alec Guinness, Jack Hawkins, Anthony Quinn, Omar Sharif, Anthony Quayle, Claude Rains, and Arthur Kennedy. The film was based on the 1926 autobiographical book Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T. E. Lawrence. The film received Academy Awards for Best Picture for producer, Sam Spiegel, Best Director for David Lean, Best Music Score – Substantially Original for composer, Maurice Jarre, as well as Best Sound, Best Art Direction - Color, Best Cinematography - Color, and Best Film Editing, in 1963.
