The object in the museum catalogue
This film is from a collection of home movies filmed by the family of Michael Holman, an important figure in the history of hip hop. It consists of a single reel of 8mm silent acetate film with color (a), an original plastic film reel (b), and an original plastic cover (c).
The film begins with a shot of a tour group at an unidentified location. A man can be seen signaling to the camera to stop filming. Next, the tour group is shown in a wide shot as they climb a hill. Several shots then depict the group's visit to an unidentified Muslim cemetery. This is followed by a series of shots depicting the Khan al-Umdan and the harbor in Acre, Israel. A series of shots capturing the Al-Jazzar Mosque in Acre follow. The film concludes with shots of people wandering around a parking lot and the tour group approaching an unidentified tourist site.
An original white plastic film reel (b) with a brief content note and an original blue plastic film container (c) with Technicolor markings also accompany the film.
