Who is Jean DeWolff?

Origin Jean DeWolff was was born to Celia and police commissioner Phillip DeWolff. However, Phillip had wanted a son not a daughter and when Jean was only six months old, he and his wife in the story divorced. Celia then married police officer Carl Weatherby who, unlike Phillip, loved Jean very much and inspired her to pursue a career in law enforcement. She quickly advanced through the ranks and became an NYPD captain while her step-father was still a sergeant. Though it was never shown, Carl was proud in Jean's accomplishments. She later publicly announced her support for Spider-Man as she was one of the few people in the police station who supports him. Creation Jean DeWolff was created by Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema and first appeared in Marvel Team-Up 1 issue 48 (1976). Major Story Arcs The Death of Jean DeWolff While working in police force she met Sergeant Stanley Carter with whom she would have an affair that no one else had known about.
