During the 1990s, he was part of the original group of New York City club personalities named The Club Kids. Rich was born in the New York Metropolitan Area and at a young age, his family relocated to San Francisco Bay Area where he began studying theater and competing in figure skating. In 1999, Rich and Traver Rains founded the fashion brand Heatherette.
