Aldo Maccione: Biography, Facts and Career

Aldo Maccione (born 27 November 1935 in Turin) is an Italian film actor and singer; known for his comedic roles. He has appeared in more than 50 films since 1964.

Originally a cabaret performer, Maccione first found success as a member of the Italian comedy rock band I Brutos. He was later a member of the comedic trio Tontos, then worked solo as a comedic character actor. Maccione found particular success in France where I Brutos had been popular. His notable roles include Claude Lelouch's L'aventure, c'est l'aventure, where he played Lino Ventura's goofy sidekick, and the war comedy Now Where Did the 7th Company Get to?. Maccione eventually rose to leading roles in French films; during the 1970s and 1980s, he starred in a series of French comedies where he was typecast as a stereotypical, foolish and accident-prone Italian wonanizer. Later in his career, he appeared in character roles, both in France and in Italy.
