The base of the box has sixty-seven spindles, possibly for cylinder recordings or Dictaphone reels, There are four rows of ten spindles interspersed with nine rows of three. Fitting over this is a lid (with sides), which is lined with blueprints relating to tabulating equipment for the 12th U.S. Census (1900). The object is roughly made.
