Bow for Greek fiddle; lyra; lera. This bow was made by an unknown maker in the Caucasus, probably 19th century. It is a kamanja bow made of a hand-hewn stick and extended frog of hardwood in one piece. Horsehair is tied to the tip and attached to the frog with a wrapping of twisted cloth. This flexible “bandage” allowed the player to adjust hair tension.
