A black and white silver gelatin photograph depicting two men speak near the Five Spot Café in The Bowery, New York City, 1958. Standing close together opposite a large glass window, Lester Young on the left, wears a hat, pants suit and tie, long coat. He holds a saxophone case in his proper left hand. An unidentified man on the right, wears a bright shirt, suit jacket and trousers, and dark shoes. To the upper left of the two men, a sign juts out from the building beside them, reading: [Newly Decorated / FURNISHED ROOMS]. The twin palm emblem of Palm Press, Inc. is imprinted at the bottom right of the photographic sheet.
