Kiss Me, Kate is a 1948 Broadway musical, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, and book by Bella and Samuel Spewack. Kiss Me, Kate opened on December 30, 1948 at the New Century Theatre, after nineteen months moved to the Schubert Theatre, for a total run of 1,077 performances. Kiss Me Kate received the 1949 Tony Award for Best Musical. Cole Porter and Samuel and Bella Spewack received Tonys for Best Original Score and Best Author (Musical).
