Jayasiṃha (r. c. 1092 – c. 1142), who assumed the title Siddharāja, a Chaulukya king who in western India. He controlled large parts of present-day Gujarat, where his capital Anahilapataka (modern Patan) was located. His control also extended to parts of present-day Rajasthan, where he subdued the Shakambhari Chahamana king Arnoraja, and where the former Naddula Chahamana ruler Asharaja acknowledged his suzerainty. Jayasimha also annexed a part of Malwa, in present-day Madhya Pradesh, by defeating the Paramaras. He also waged an inconclusive war against the Chandela king Madanavarman. Jayasimha's daughter Kanchana married Arnoraja. The couple's son Someshvara (the father of Prithviraj Chauhan) was brought up by Jayasimha at the Chaulukya court.
