Story and premise

Ding Ning, a criminal defense lawyer whose biological dad is a kidnapper and whose stepfather is a criminal police officer, crosses paths with Yu Songfan, a chief judge grieving the loss of his wife and child, and Zhao Yijie, a darkly charming legal elite who walks the gray zone. Thrown together by gritty criminal cases, these three lonely people go head-to-head while quietly recognizing something of themselves in one another. Opponents, yet nearly kin. Each is both hunter and hunted. Who is the oriole pulling strings behind the curtain, and who is the cicada biding its time until summer?
