Gu Jinnan Prisoner: Story, Cast and Series Facts

Story and premise

17-year-old Wen Hai lost his parents in an accident. Since he was underage, the court appointed his wealthy half-brother, Gu Huaizhou—whom he had never met—as his guardian. Gu Huaizhou despised Wen Hai's arrival and treated him with cold cruelty. Though Wen Hai appeared obedient, he secretly resented the abuse. Gu Leng manipulated Wen Hai's emotions to take revenge on Gu Huaizhou, but his schemes backfired. During this time, Gu Leng also became entangled with debtor Jiang Nan, whose resistance turned into love and ultimately ended in tragedy. Meanwhile, Wen Hai and Gu Huaizhou's relationship shifted from hostility to reluctant reconciliation and forbidden attraction. Yet their bond was shadowed by blood ties and moral boundaries they could not escape. Eventually, after Gu Leng drugged Gu Huaizhou, everything between them shattered.
