Neko Kare: Shounen wo Kau: Story, Cast and Series Facts

Story and premise

What happens when two lost souls—one a woman weary of adult life, the other a boy with nowhere to go—start living under the same roof?

Ai, a 30-year-old office worker numbed by the monotony of daily life, finds herself making an impulsive decision one rainy night: taking in a stray high school boy with cat-like instincts and nowhere to belong. His name is Nagisa—mysterious, quiet, and untethered from the world.

What begins as an unusual cohabitation gradually evolves into something deeper. As the days pass in their modest apartment, filled with shared meals, silences, and small moments of understanding, a delicate bond forms between them—one that challenges their assumptions about age, love, loneliness, and family.

But how long can something so fragile last? And when the world inevitably intrudes, will the connection they've built survive?

A gentle, bittersweet tale of connection, emotional healing, and the quiet stirrings of love—told through the rhythm of everyday life.
