Story and premise

After failing to join the police force, police academy student Yan Mingyu is expelled for participating in underground boxing matches. Under the direction of Economic Crime Investigation Captain Chen Changjie, he is assigned an undercover mission within Tianyao Group, a powerful corporation run by his biological father, Mai Zhongwei. His objective is to investigate the notorious "812" money-laundering case while uncovering the truth behind his mother's death. Yan Mingyu soon learns that many of the hardships he endured were in fact carefully orchestrated tests designed to assess his suitability as an undercover operative. As he gradually earns the trust of Tianyao Group's leadership, he uncovers a sophisticated money-laundering network involving criminal syndicates that funnel illicit funds through high-profile auctions. His successful infiltration eventually allows him to rise through the ranks and take control of the company. On the eve of the final operation, a mole within law enforcement exposes Yan Mingyu's identity. In a desperate attempt to save his son, Mai Zhongwei sacrifices his life but is murdered by Zhang Junsheng. Framed as a criminal and placed on the wanted list, Yan Mingyu watches his teammates suffer devastating injuries. Forced into hiding, Yan Mingyu pretends to defect to the influential official Zhang Zhiyuan while secretly securing control of 1.5 billion yuan in criminal proceeds and the evidence linked to them through cryptocurrency transactions. In the end, through coordinated efforts from both inside and outside the criminal organization, the entire syndicate is brought to justice. Long-buried murder cases are finally solved, Yan Mingyu clears his name, and he ultimately returns to the police force.
