Story and premise

Amid sweeping reforms in the mining industry, the quiet village of Dayang is thrust into turmoil. An ordinary villager, Yang Gang, is forced into the dangerous undercurrents of the mines in order to protect his family. Together with his brothers, he takes a desperate risk by venturing into a forbidden mine shaft, only to uncover a hidden secret tied to a gold deposit. From that moment on, he becomes entangled in a web of corruption and crime. As pressure mounts from the mine's authorities, rival factions clash both openly and in the shadows, and a series of misfortunes befall those around him. Caught between survival and moral integrity, Yang Gang faces increasingly difficult choices.
