The Moon Over The Sea Is The Moon In The Sky: Story, Cast and Series Facts

Story and premise

Song Jingnan spends ten years devoted to an intense and unrequited love for Fu Siyuan. For years, she gives him her companionship and affection, hoping that one day he will finally see her feelings. When Jiang Yuning returns to China, Fu Siyuan's heart begins to waver. Unable to let go of his childhood sweetheart while still clinging to the comfort of Song Jingnan's years of devotion, he becomes caught between the two women. His hesitation and emotional distance gradually fill their relationship with suspicion and disappointment.

Eventually, Song Jingnan becomes exhausted from waiting. She finally realizes that continuing to chase someone who cannot give her the love she deserves means losing herself in the process. Choosing to step away, she withdraws from Fu Siyuan and begins focusing on her own life and happiness. Only after losing Song Jingnan does Fu Siyuan realize how much she meant to him. He finally understands that the childhood love he had held onto for so long was never something he could truly have, while the person who had always been by his side was the one he had taken for granted.

Meanwhile, Gu Yanting, who has quietly loved Song Jingnan for many years, begins to enter her life. Without forcing her or demanding anything in return, he patiently stays by her side, giving her the care and affection she once spent years longing for. With the past behind her and a new love waiting ahead, Song Jingnan must decide what she truly wants. After ten years of unrequited love, will she return to the man she once devoted everything to, or will she finally choose herself—and the person who has loved her all along?
