Story and premise
Eleven-year-old Nick and his crew: idealistic younger brother J.J. – the brains of the outfit, weird pal Johnny – his lieutenant, big girl Suzi – the muscle, and their six-year-old sidekick Adam, jockey for school yard supremacy with the bully Frankie and his henchmen as a film crew documents the proceedings. Nick stepped in to end their reign of terror and restore the natural order – but it's tough staying on top – and Frankie will stop at nothing to regain power. The rival gangs make their own rules in a skewed world that reflects and refracts the reality we live in. The Yard is the world in microcosm, run by and for the kids; it is a funny fast paced Goodfellas in a school playground with a Romeo and Juliet twist.
