Andreas Weimann: Biography, Facts and Career

Andreas Weimann (German pronunciation: [vaɪ̯man]; born 5 August 1991) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays as a forward or attacking midfielder for Austrian Bundesliga club Rapid Wien, on loan from Derby County. He also plays for the Austria national team. He was signed by Aston Villa as a sixteen-year-old from Rapid Wien and went on to make 129 total appearances and score 24 goals for the Premier League club. He left in 2015 for Derby County, joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan in January 2017, and signed for Bristol City in July 2018, Weimann spent six years at Bristol City, where he also had a loan spell at West Bromwich Albion in early 2024. In August 2024, he joined Blackburn Rovers where he spent a season. In July 2025, Weimann rejoined Derby County, he was loaned to Rapid Wien in January 2026. Weimann is set to leave Derby County in June 2026. Weimann made his senior international debut for Austria in 2012, and has earned over 20 caps.
