A flier advertising a public discussion on "Desegregation and the NAACP" featuring Dr. Allan Knight Chalmers, Edward L. Cooper and Lawrence G. Brooks on Friday May 4, 1956 at the Quinn Auditorium of the Rindge Tech High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The discussion was sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee, Charles Street Form on Social Issues, Fellowship of Reconciliation, the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
The flier is printed in black ink on white paper. At the top is the text [AN IMPORTANT PUBLIC DISCUSSION / "DESEGREGATION / and the N.A.A.C.P."] and then in smaller text [What are the conditions in the South today? / What are the objectives of the N.A.A.C.P.? / What should "Northerners" do - or not do?]. The speakers are listed in bold text at the center of the flier, followed by event time, date, location and sponsors.
The flier has been folded into thirds, with a return address for the "Committe For a Public Meeting on Desegregation and the N.A.A.C.P." printed at the top right corner of one segment of the verso.
