A 1977 flier for the Jazzmobile. The flier is printed in black ink on white paper. At the top and right sides is a wide, L-shaped band of black with [jazzmobile] in bold white text wrapping around the corner. At top left is a small illustrated graphic of mirror image saxophone players, one in white and the other in black, surrounded by a rectangle of white. The body of the flier has the heading: [thirteenth year of free concerts / 1977 / JAZZ – AMERICA’S CLASSICAL MUSIC / August 22 – August 26 / Unit 1]. A two-column schedule of events follows, listing the boroughs (Brooklyn and Manhattan), dates, and times, with the corresponding performing artist and host locations. For four days of late August 1977, jazz performers included Clifford Jordan Quintet, Charles Mingus, Mongo Santamaría, Socidad, and Roland Alexander Sextet. New York state sponsors are listed in the bottom third of the poster under “SUPPORTED BY:” and include: [New York State Council on the Arts / National Endowment for the Arts / New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, PRCA / Office of the Bronx Borough President / EXXON / International Telephone & Telegraph / Pianos courtesy of: / YAMAHA / Drums courtesy of: / PREMIER].
