Also in this issue, young Claudine's family struggles to survive a battle in the streets outside their Paris home and the young girl must sacrifice her beloved pets in order to save them in "Claudine's Doves"; in "Jed's First Hale", a boy is hired to drive a cow across country and hopes it will help him achieve his 4th of July dreams; readers can meet and learn about some amazing wild animals in "Some Inhabitants of Africa". These stories and many more are sure to engage and enlighten children of all ages.
