About the work

The LibriVox catalogue summary, preserved with the recording, reads:

LibriVox recording of The Psalter for Morning and Evening Prayer from the 1921 Book of Common Prayer by Coverdale Bible. Read in English by Russ Hobbs. The Book of Psalms, or Psalter, was written by King David and various other authors over a period of several hundred years beginning around 1000 BC. It consists of divinely inspired hymn-like poems expressing the heart of lives lived in God's presence. Myles Coverdale's translation was used in the Book of Common Prayer from 1662-1979 and is currently used in the Divine Worship Daily Office of the (Roman Catholic) Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter. This edition of the Psalms is divided into daily readings for Morning and Evening Prayer which cover the Psalter in a month. - Summary by Russell Hobbs
