Adam Müller-Guttenbrunn (born Adam Müller; 22 October 1852 – 5 January 1923) was an Austrian writer, journalist, playwright, theatre director and politician of Banat Swabian origin. Born in Guttenbrunn, now Zăbrani in Romania, he spent most of his professional life in Vienna. He became particularly known for works concerning the German-speaking population of the Banat and the Danube Swabians. Müller-Guttenbrunn directed the Raimund Theater from 1893 to 1896 and later the Kaiserjubiläums-Stadttheater, the predecessor of the Vienna Volksoper, from 1898 to 1903. Modern scholarship has also examined the German nationalist and antisemitic aspects of his literary and theatrical work.
