Who is Akita Sagawa?

Created by Robbie Morrison and John Burns , Akita appears in the 2000AD series - Nikolai Dante . The Black Dragons, governors of the Pacific Rim and the thousands of islands within it, are a treacherous alliance of Yakuza Societies, chaired with murderous aplomb by the Sagawa Clan. The Dragons were once as great a threat to the Tsar as the family Romanov - until the cataclysm of 2621 devastated Japan with earthquakes and tidal waves. Romanov intelligence suspected that Tsarist agents initiated the disaster by detonating high explosives in faultlines around the Japanese coastline. But the Dragons created a new powerbase in Pacifica. The largest in a series of fortresses constructed around massive black smokers on the oceanic floor - volcano-like hydrothermal vents which act as the main power source for the cities above. Leader of the Sagawa Clan - Akita Sagawa, has semi-sentient and empathic tattoos on her body - the world of the world's foremost bio-artists. They react to her moods and passions, changing shape and colour accordingly, creating a living masterpiece.
