Avalanche is a Marvel comic book character, the alter ego of Dominikos Ioannis Petrakis, with over 789 comic issue appearances. A former member of the new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and Freedom Force. Avalanche has the ability to create vibratory waves that affects inorganic matter. He often uses his power to affect the earth.

Who is Avalanche?

Origin Avalanche is one of the more common villains of the X-Men , yet even with his popularity his past still remains a great mystery. All that is really known about his time before becoming a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants is that he immigrated to America from Crete, the largest and most populous island in Greece. He is also married to Helen Petros, but aside from this he has no other known relatives, however this does make him one of the few super villains who is actually married. Creation Avalanche was created by the team of Chris Claremont and John Byrne and first appeared in The (Uncanny) X-Men Vol.1 issue 141 (1981). Major Story Arcs New Brotherhood of Evil Mutants Brotherhood of Evil Mutants Avalanche's first appeared with Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants . He agreed to join them as he had seen mutants hunted and had grown bitter and jaded about mankind's views on mutants. His first act with the group was an attempted assassination of anti-mutant Senator Robert Kelly. The X-Men arrived to stop the assassination and battled Avalanche & the new Brotherhood.
