Origin During the rapture, Bethany Black's family is taken up into Heaven to be with God, except Bethany was left behind. As a result of this she grows up and becomes a slave of sorts to Belial. She has a "pet" named Bloato, a half demon. Her main goal in life is reaching Heaven's gates so that she can be reunited with her family again. Creation Bethany Black was created for use in Image comics by Rick Remender and Eric Nguyen . Her first appearance is in Strange Girl #1 , which was released in June of 2005. Powers and Abilities Bethany is able to use magic; however, the extent of her powers are unknown.
