Who is Brilliant One?

Origin The Brilliant One is a massive, female serpent that laid dormant underneath the ocean floor due to the magic of the coral crab. The Brilliant One resurfaced when a possessed Doctor Strange stole the coral crab artifact under the protection of Namor and the Aquarians. Namor asked Doctor Strange to help pacify the serpent before it devastates Aquaria but the sorcerer refused. The Brilliant One mauled the sorcerer and nearly tore him in half with one bite but Doctor Strange quickly recovered due to his powerful magic. The Brilliant One attacked once more and even swallowed Doctor Strange but he blasted out of the creature and the serpent retreated back into her primordial darkness. Creation The Brilliant One was created by David Quinn and Melvin Rubi in 1994 and first appeared in Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme # 64. Powers & Abilities The Brilliant One is a massive serpent with superhuman strength, durability and resistance to injury. The serpent can live indefinitely underwater and it will maul its enemies with her sharp fangs and powerful bite.
