Who is Cadsuane Melaidhrin?

Origin Born and raised in the city of Far Madding, Cadsuane travelled to the White Tower at Tar Valon when she was fifteen and her ability to channel was discovered. She spent six years there as a Novice, and a further five as an Accepted before attaining the shawl. After being raised Aes Sedai she joined the Green Ajah, and soon after left the Tower to travel. In the Black Hills she met an elderly wilder named Norla, who humbled Cadsuane and instructed her. She also set Cadsuane a series of tasks for which she gained a series of angreal and ter'angreal. After leaving Norla, Cadsuane travelled the world, facing and defeating twenty male channelers, more than any other known woman, including those of the Red. She quickly attained legendary status among the other Aes Sedai, but actively resisted their efforts to elevate her to a position of power, refusing to be raised Sitter for the Green twice, or to be raised to head of the Green Ajah. When rumours began to circulate that she may be raised Amyrlin, she left the tower for ten years.
