Who is Charles Peace?
In comics: Charlie Peace was a humour strip that debuted in Buster on 27 June 1964. It was set against a background of the 19th Century criminal underworld, and based on the antics of a real Victorian era criminal, burglar and murderer Charles Edward Peace. In the January 1968 edition of Buster, Charlie wanders into a time machine and is transported to 1960s London. Resuming his life of crime once more. After spending a few years in the 1960s and 70s, Charlie went back in the time machine and was once again whisked back to the Victorian age. The character was resurrected for the Wildstorm Albion mini-series, where he assisted Bad Penny Dolmann and Danny Doom in freeing superhumans held captive for decades by the British government.
