Who is Coney?
Major Story Arcs The Devil May Care Coney is a friend of Albert , the son of a well-meaning doctor in the area, Dana . Dana had her lover, Hack , leader of the local Grendel clan, kick Albert out of the Grendels out of concern for his safety. Albert, who already hated his mom, took this badly and decided to destroy everything about the Grendels in retaliation. The local clan is in charge of the Indianapolis 5000, a huge race that brings together all the Grendels in the region. Coney, who also feels left out of the local culture as a non-Grendel, joins up with Albert, their friend Pug , and some others to destroy the race. Albert is really the main instigator, however, and basically bullies his friends into doing what he wants. Together, Coney and Albert kill the favorite racer, Kill Martin , which starts a near-war among the various Grendel clans. However, they are nearly caught in their escape, and Albert shoots and kills Coney to slow down his pursuers.
