Darth Vader is a Company-Licensed comic book character, the alter ego of Anakin Skywalker, with over 1,526 comic issue appearances. Once a heroic Jedi Knight known as Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader was seduced by the dark side and became a dark Lord of the Sith. After severe injuries at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi, locking him in a metal suit, Vader would go on to terrorize the galaxy. Under the apprenticeship of Darth Sidious, Vader served as a powerful enforcer for the Galactic Empire and hunted down any surviving Jedi after Order 66. However, in spite of everything he had done, there were still remnants of good in him.

Origin Anakin Skywalker is considered "the Chosen One" of the force; whom is supposed to destroy the Sith. Anakin Skywalker was born without a father and lived most of his life on Tatooine with his mother, Shmi . When Qui-Gon Jinn came to the planet looking for parts for their ship back to the Jedi Council, Anakin won them the parts and also his freedom, but only with one flaw in the plan -- his mother had to stay on Tatooine as a slave. Years later, Anakin became the apprentice of Obi-Wan Kenobi and married the ex-queen of Naboo , Padme Amidala . Legacy of the Chosen One Near the end of the Clone Wars , Anakin became very obsessed at saving his family. Learning that his wife and unborn child were going to die though a vision, Anakin was determined to find the power save his loved ones. At this moment, Sith Lord Darth Sidious made Anakin join the newfound Empire as his new Sith Apprentice, Darth Vader. Anakin killed most of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy, except for Yoda and Obi-Wan .
