Dr. Doog was the first supervillain the Starman/Ten Knight faced in his 1940s series. Creator Jack Burnley remembered calling him "Dr. Doom" but the editors changed the name to Dr. Doog. He masterminded "a wave of destructive sabotage across the United States. Everything from telegraph wires to power-generating dynamos spontaneously and mysteriously burst into flame." Doog was the leader of the Secret Brotherhood of the Electron. Doog had created a device which allowed them to nullify ordinary electricity.
