Who Is Eddie Brock? Origin, Powers and Key Facts

Eddie Brock is a Marvel comic book character, the alter ego of Edward Charles Allan Brock, with over 1,183 comic issue appearances. Eddie Brock bonded with the dark alien symbiote after it was discarded by Spider-Man, becoming the first Venom. Later, Brock became Anti-Venom, but the symbiote was lost during the events of Spider-Island. Brock has also been forcibly bonded to the Toxin Symbiote by the Crime-Master, but has reluctantly given it up to stop Carnage. Recently he has re-bonded with Venom.

Who is Eddie Brock?

Origin Edward Allen "Eddie" Brock was raised in a Roman Catholic household in San Francisco . In his childhood, he helped a young girl look for her missing cat, but what no one knew was that Eddie had the cat in his basement. He returned the cat to the overjoyed young girl, and everyone in the neighborhood sees him as the hero. "It was easy," according to Eddie; the first occasion in a list of many where Eddie showed himself again and again to be a compulsive liar with a hero complex. Later, at the dinner table, Eddie tells his dad about how he "found" the cat, but his father shows little interest. That evening, while watching the news, Eddie states that the reporter is lying. When his dad shows confusion, Eddie declares that he can always tell when someone is lying (which, in and of itself, is potentially a lie). His sister complains about how Eddie ruined his church clothes, shouting, "We used to have a mom before you." Eddie's dad scolds her, stating that they could not blame Eddie for what happened, and that it wasn't his fault, then walks away.
