Who is Gerard Gardner?

Origin Mace Gardner was born to Roland and Peggy Gardner in Baltimore, Maryland . His drunken father was always particularly proud of Mace, but he was also considerably abusive to both his mother and his younger brother, Guy . After breaking several records in college football, Mace became a policeman in his home town and ended up setting his brother Guy straight after he ended up on the wrong side of the law. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse for Mace when he was dealing with a drug trafficker and ended up being shot and paralyzed from the waist down. Depressed with no way out in sight, Mace tried to commit suicide by drowning himself in a river. This ended up driving his father's alcoholism to a whole new level, and ultimately killed him. As it turned out however, Mace had survived his suicide attempt and was recruited by the corrupt organization known as Quorum . They enhanced him with cybernetics and made him into the mercenary known as Militia.
