Who Is Impala? Origin, Powers and Key Facts

Impala is a DC Comics comic book character, the alter ego of Charles Mokose, with over 34 comic issue appearances. Impala, alter ego M'Bulaze, is a Zulu South African speedster with speed and agility greater than his namesake and a member of the Global Guardians until he was killed by Roulette in her infamous house of games. Post Flashpoint, Impala is Charles Mokose, a man of African and British descent and a member of the Global Guardians who possesses totemic powers like Vixen, granting him super speed and healing abilities.

Who is Impala?

Born into a Zulu tribe in South Africa , the man born M'bulaze discovered he could out run and out jump the antelope. Joining the Global Guardians he took the name Impala. He was one of the brainwashed Guardians during the Queen Bee occupation of Bialya . He also loses his powers against Fain Y'onia. They are later restored once Fain is destroyed. His picture hangs up on Roulette's wall of fallen heroes. Her club, The House, pits drugged heroes against each other to the death. After Flashpoint, Charles Mokose is Impala and possesses a totem similar to the Tantu totem that grants him his super-speed powers and healing powers.
