John Howlett is a Marvel comic book character, the alter ego of John Howlett Junior, with over 37 comic issue appearances. John Howlett is a mutant and is the older brother of Wolverine. John Howlett appears in one of many of the possible futures in the Marvel Universe.

Who is John Howlett?

Origin John Howlett Jr. was the first son of John Howlett Senior and Elizabeth Howlett. Although John has never actually appeared as a person in comics, it was revealed that he had died when he was only twelve years old, as is seen on the tombstone on the grave yard (1885 - 1897) of the Howlett Estate. The circumstances of John's death remain a mystery, but it seems John Jr. had the same abilities as his younger brother James (Wolverine) Howlett, as it is later revealed that John Jr.'s mother Elizabeth had huge claw-like scars on her body, suggesting John Howlett Jr had attacked her at some point. These events greatly resemble John's origin in a different reality known as Earth 4011. Creation John Howlett Jr. was first mentioned in Origin issue 1 (2001) and his grave-stone was first seen in Origin issue 2 (2001) but the character was never really seen in the 616 Universe.
