Who is Katu?
Creation Katu was created by Scott Lobdell and John Romita Jr in 1993 and first appeared in Uncanny X-Men # 300. History Katu discovered his mutant powers whilst being investigated by the Soviet army due to unwittingly causing localised electromagnetic interference around his Siberian Inuit village. Omega Red tore apart Katu's arms to stop this, causing Katu to replace them with bionic prosthesis. Swearing revenge he then joined the Acolytes. He later got his revenge when the Acolytes teamed up against Cable against Omega Red Along with the majority of his fellow Acolytes he was murdered during the Cassandra Nova's Wild Sentinel attack on Genosha Powers Katu has the ability to convert electromagnetic fields into kinetic force, which creates a vacuum in the space around him. This in turn can generate extreme and unnatural weather conditions.
