Keeper of the Flame is a title for the Guardian of the Sacred Flame of Life in El Dorado. Lann held the title since before Avengers vol. 1 #30 (July, 1966) to his death at the hands of Tyrannus in "Incredible Hulk" vol. 2 #241 (November, 1979). A successor to the title appeared in "Namor Annual" #1 (1991). Lann was a carefull manipulator who rarely got his hands dirty. The unnamed successor was a genocidal maniac.
