Who Is Krakoa? Origin, Powers and Key Facts

Krakoa is a Marvel comic book character, with over 1,417 comic issue appearances. Krakoa is the island that walks like a man, a living island mutant in the middle of the pacific ocean spawned from nuclear experiments. Later, Krakoa would be tamed by Xavier and Magneto and serve as the a new island nation refuge for all of Earth's mutants.

Who is Krakoa?

Origin Krakoa alongside it's twin island Arakko was once the island known as Okkara who ruled by who was ruled by Apocalypse and his family but the island would eventually be split by the twilight sword creating Krakoa and Arakko. When Professor X detected a powerful mutant signal on a remote island in the middle of the pacific using Cerebro , he dispatched the original team of X-Men to investigate. It would turn out that the island Krakoa was the mutant that Xavier detected. Krakoa would capture the X-Men in order to feed off of their strong mutant energies. Xavier would send two other rescue teams to bring back the X-Men. The first consisted of young and inexperienced mutants that Krakoa was able to defeat quickly. The second rescue team consisted of older mutants from around the globe. The second team would defeat Krakoa and rescue the team.
