Elena LaBrava is a thriving fashion designer who takes the San Francisco cable car every morning for inspiration. One morning, the cable car she is riding is struck with a mysterious lightning bolt that imbues her with ultra power. The ability she gains is perfect aim; she can always hit her target with anything she can throw. On the same day she gained her abilities, she also met other similarly-powered people that were all determined to find out where their powers came from. They called themselves the Strangers, with Lady Killer taking charge of the team's image and direction. Throughout the team's run Elena functions as their sole financial backer and unoffical leader.
