Origin Lance Lewis is a detective from the 22nd century. With his girlfriend Marna, Lance would solve mysteries involving martians, rocket ships, and rayguns. America's Best Comics In the Tom Strong universe, created by Alan Moore , Lance Lewis had traveled back to the 20th century to experience what he called "the last good war". He partnered with Grant Halford (who would later become The Magnet ) during World War II. After the war was over, they stayed partners and became science heroes. Lance Lewis was later revealed to be killed by Mystico . His old partner The Magnet set events in motion that led to Mystico's downfall.
