Luther Arkwright is an agent of "ZeroZero", an advanced planet in multiverse that fights against the chaotic forces of "The Disruptors" in parallel worlds. Arkwright has the rare ability to move between these parallel worlds by his own will. Arkwrights companion and sidekick in his adventures is telepath named Rose Wylde, who is able to communicate between her own incarnations in parallel worlds. In The Adventures of Luther Arkwright he is in a parallel Victorian England that is in throws of long civil war. The characters creator, Bryan Talbot has said that early Arkwright was a cross between Clint Eastwood and Michael Moorcock´s Jerry Cornelius . He also stated that his visual inspiration for the character and his world were Victorian etchings and comics by Moebius , but that he wanted to steer it away from melodrama and, sound effects and thought bubbles of American comics.
