Who is Mandrake?

History Mandrake the Magician was trained in the mystic arts in a mysterious school located somewhere in Tibet since he was a young man. One of his teachers, Luciphor, turned to a life of crime and taking the name Cobra, Cobra became a recurring villain. Proving to be a powerful hypnotist and illusionist Mandrake traveled the world assisted by his loyal friend and partner Lothar "The World's Strongest Man' putting his skills to use against various gangsters, criminals, mad scientists, aliens, inter-dimensional threats and the aforementioned Cobra as well as his villainous brother Derek. Other Media Animated Mandrake in Defenders of the Earth Mandrake and Lothar appeared as regular characters in the 80's cartoon Defenders of the Earth, alongside other King Features characters such as Flash Gordon , The Phantom and Ming the Merciless .
