Who is Matter Master?
Origin Mark Mandrill was a scientist turned alchemist when he spent his spare time attempting alchemy. Mandrill was trying to turn lead into gold until a vial of unknown chemicals spilled on the floor and exploded. Just as the hot metallic compound came towards Mandrill's direction, he put his hands up in a halting position and suddenly the metallic compound stops. Now able to telepathically control this material that he dubbed "Mentachem," Mandrill made a wand out of the material in order to control, reshape, transmute, or levitate any natural element or matter. Major Story Arcs Mandrill began a life of crime and fought against Hawkman as well as the Justice League . He later becomes a member of the Secret Society of Super Villains and kidnaps some of the richest people in St. Roch, Louisiana in order to draw out Hawkman along with the rest of the Justice League into a confrontation. However, the battle between them lasts only a few seconds because Golden Eagle who was posing as Hawkman uses his axe to sever Matter Master's right arm.
