Mayhem is a Marvel comic book character, the alter ego of Brigid O’Reilly, with over 72 comic issue appearances. Brigid is a former New York City Police detective that gained the power to turn into a gas-like entity, able to release a poison gas. She also has razor-sharp nails. Mayhem has worked with Cloak & Dagger on many occasions.

Who is Mayhem?

Origin Brigid was a very respected police-detective. She had become somewhat of an ally to the superhero duo of Cloak and Dagger, since Brigid was also hunting drug-cartels and catching criminals. For this reason, the two often helped each-other out. Creation Detective Brigid O'Reilly first appeared in Cloak and Dagger #1 of Oct 1983, and was created by Bill Mantlo and Rick Leonardi . She subsequently appeared as the creature called Mayhem, in Cloak and Dagger #6-9 form May–November 1986.
