Former heavyweight boxing contender, after retiring from the ring he returned to New York City where he opened a dojo with his friend and colleague King Lau . He and King provided moral support to Elektra as well as helping with her training. He eventually became romantically involved with Elektra but his close relation with her made him a target of the Hand . When last seen he was in a coma due to injuries sustained battling the Hand.
