Overview The Mongolian Death Worm is believed to be native to the great Gobi Desert of Mongolia and China . They reportedly can grow more than five feet long and several feet thick, although there have been instances where they are shown to be able to grow to an immensely larger size. Burrowing in the ground, they tunnel about until a potential meal comes its way, at which point it will burst out of the earth. The rocky plateaus of the Gobi Desert are no trouble for the worms, as they tunnel through it as easily as they would dirt and sand. During the cold months of the winter, the worms lie dormant underground, while during the warmest months - especially June and July - they will hunt.
