Who is N.R.G.-X?

Pre-Crisis: Grant Haskill was an athlete and an award winning researcher working in the laboratory at the Shady Point Nuclear Generating Station. He was working with a Nuclear Radiation Generator-Experimental (N.R.G.-X) suit. He wore an exo-skeleton suit and was controlling the N.R.G.-X suit on the other side of a glass-lead enclosure. While performing his duties an explosion occurred in the laboratory he was workng in. His girlfriend Laurel Kenyon was on hand when the bomb went off. The explosion caused the essence of Grant to enter the N.R.G.-X suit. Superman was on hand to help recover any casualities and encountered N.R.G.-X. As N.R.G.-X, Grant was unable to communicate with anyone.
