Origin Quentin Turnbull blamed Jonah Hex for the death of his son, Jeb , at the Fort Charlotte Massacre during the Civil War . Following the war, he dedicated his life towards avenging his son's death. To that end, he employed the likes of Ned Landon and the Chameleon to frame Jonah Hex for crimes that he didn't commit. Major Story Arcs Blackest Night During the events of the Blackest Night , Quentin Turnbull is one of the many reanimated as a Black Lantern . He works together with Black Lantern Hex, in order to track down his own great-great-grandson, Joshua , and manages to kill him. Other Media Jonah Hex (2010) In the movie, famed actor John Malkovich starred as Turnbull as the film's main villain.
