Origin Creation The character of Sarek was created by Gene Rodenberry for use in the Star Trek universe consisting of television series', films, comics, action figures, and novels. Sarek was portrayed by actor Mark Lenard . Sarek's first comic appearance is in Star Trek #7-Pon Far! , which was released in August, 1984. Major Story Arcs Powers and Abilities As Sarek is a Vulcan, he presumably possesses the same powers and abilities as are typical of his race. Average Vulcans are generally presented as being three times as strong as a normal human. This is mainly due to planet Vulcan's higher gravity,which not only contributes to inhanced stregnth, but also speed. In addition, Vulcans are able to go without water for long periods of time, more than a few days easily, due to being accustomed to Vulcan's desert climate. Sarek is also able to stay awake for up to two weeks time before needing to sleep.
